Ocean Stewardship

At Vuda Marina, we're passionate about ocean stewardship. We actively engage in initiatives such as coral and mangrove planting, community sailing workshops, and school education programs. Join us in preserving marine ecosystems and empowering our community for a sustainable future.

Coral planting

Vudas Marinas Coral Planting Program is a noteworthy initiative aimed at restoring and preserving coral reefs in the Fijian environment. By actively planting and cultivating corals, this program promotes the regeneration of these vital ecosystems. The benefits to the Fijian environment are immense. Firstly, the program enhances biodiversity, fostering the growth of diverse marine species and supporting the delicate balance of the ecosystem. Secondly, the coral reefs act as natural barriers, protecting coastlines from erosion and minimizing the impact of storms and waves. Lastly, the program promotes eco-tourism by providing visitors with an opportunity to witness the beauty of the vibrant coral reefs, boosting the local economy and raising environmental awareness.

MANGROVE iNitiative

The mangrove planting project at Vuda Marina in Fiji is an incredible effort to protect and restore the coastal ecosystems that we all depend on. By planting mangroves along the shoreline, the program brings a host of benefits. These sturdy trees act as natural shields, shielding the coast from erosion and powerful storms. They create safe havens for a variety of marine life, such as fish and birds. Moreover, mangroves are champions at absorbing carbon dioxide, helping to fight climate change. The program also encourages community involvement, empowering locals to take an active role in caring for our coastal resources. Through mangrove planting, Vuda Marina is working hard to preserve the beauty and health of our precious shores.

uto ni yalo

Vuda Marina wholeheartedly supports the Uto Ni Yalo trust, recognizing its significance in promoting marine protection and raising awareness about the threats our oceans face. Their mission embodies the values of balance, harmony, teamwork, and respect, just like the voyaging canoe itself. By reviving ancient island wisdom and embracing renewable energy, the Uto Ni Yalo serves as a powerful messenger for sustainability. Vuda Marina appreciates the fusion of traditional Pacific canoe design with modern boat-building techniques, creating eco-friendly vakas that rely solely on wind and current. This project inspires us to take responsibility for our planet and work towards a sustainable future for generations to come.
